Why choose Peak as your nitrogen gas supplier?

Posted in news on 10th March 2020

Deciding where to buy nitrogen gas from? With a nitrogen generator you will never need to buy nitrogen again.

Nitrogen gas is used for a variety of manufacturing and processing applications, for everything from shielding gas in metal fabrication to gas flushing, to providing a protective atmosphere in Modified Atmosphere Packaging for food.

As a commodity which is so widely used in industries, there are many nitrogen gas suppliers out there to choose from, and more than one method to supply your application or process. Traditionally, nitrogen has been supplied in gas cylinders, liquid micro-bulk tanks  or through bulk liquid trcuk deliveries but there are hidden costs and various drawbacks to each of these supply methods.

For example, when nitrogen is supplied via gas cylinder packs there is a lot of time lost to admin in the form of monitoring supply levels, coordinating demand with repeat order placing, and accepting deliveries of hazardous containers on-site; which requires health and safety training for staff on handling and swapping out cylinders as required - all of this whilst trying to factor increasing nitrogen prices into your facilities’ budget.

Bulk Liquid Deliveries

When it comes to bulk liquid deliveries, although it may seem to be more economical to buy in scale, this method of nitrogen supply isn’t much better. Particularly the upfront cost is often not fully understood, where businesses must first invest in the necessary infrastructure to house a large bulk tank outside their facility. Depending on what is already available on-site, this can include obtaining planning permission, ground works & pouring concrete to create a plinth, in order to support the weight of what is often an enormous tank. Once the tank is finally in place, it then needs to be filled & often. This involves a large tanker truck visiting your facility regularly, taking up considerable space when on-site – if space is tight, then trucks can often end up stuck. One of the reasons bulk nitrogen tanks need refilled so regularly is due to off-gassing, whereby the liquid contained within the tank simply evaporates over time, reducing the supply on an ongoing basis, whether it is used or not.

Fortunately, another method of nitrogen gas supply is available which doesn’t require all this hassle – an on-site nitrogen gas generator. With a nitrogen generator, you can become your own nitrogen gas supplier by generating nitrogen gas on-demand, for your application or process, on-site. With a nitrogen generation system, the hassles of repeated deliveries and their associated admin are a thing of the past, as is paying for gas that is ultimately lost due to off-gassing.

A nitrogen generator is not only a sustainable method of gas supply, but also the most economical; as after the initial purchase, the only ongoing costs are for electricity supply and annual maintenance. So instead of wondering where to buy nitrogen gas from, perhaps a better question wo to ask would be, where to buy a nitrogen generator from?
