i-Flow: Ideal Centralized Nitrogen Source for Modern Manufacturing

As manufacturers face increasing pressure to reduce operating costs, improve sustainability, and secure reliable gas supply, traditional nitrogen delivery methods are becoming increasingly difficult to justify. Reliance on high-pressure cylinders, liquid dewars, or bulk liquid storage for centralized supply creates ongoing costs, logistical challenges, supply chain dependency, and safety concerns.

Today, we are seeing more and more organizations turn to on-site nitrogen generation as a smarter alternative. By producing nitrogen exactly where and when it is needed, businesses can eliminate supply interruptions, reduce operational expenses, and take full control of their gas supply.

The i-Flow Prime nitrogen generator from Peak Gas Generation provides a scalable and dependable centralized nitrogen source for a wide range of industrial applications, delivering high-purity nitrogen on demand using advanced Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology. Available with purity levels ranging from 95% to 99.9995%, an i-Flow generator enables organizations to replace delivered nitrogen with a self-sufficient, cost-effective nitrogen generation system.

What's a centralized nitrogen source?

When we're talking about centralized nitrogen, we are referring to a single, dedicated system that supplies nitrogen on demand to multiple workstations, instruments, or locations from one central location. Instead of relying on individual gas cylinders or liquid tanks, the generator provides 24/7 nitrogen availability without the safety, compliance, and administrative burden of delivered supply.

Why choose i-Flow as your centralized nitrogen source?

A centralized nitrogen source offers a simple solution to a common challenge: supplying multiple processes, production lines, or facilities with a consistent flow of high-quality nitrogen.

Unlike nitrogen cylinders or bulk liquid nitrogen deliveries, the i-Flow nitrogen generator produces gas on-site, continuously and on demand. This eliminates the uncertainty of deliveries, reduces downtime, and removes the administrative burden associated with managing gas inventories.

The i-Flow Prime can easily be expanded with additional CMS modules whenever required.

The modular design of i-Flow allows a single, expandable nitrogen generation system to support multiple applications, including:

  • Food packaging and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP),

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing,

  • Electronics production,

  • Semiconductor manufacturing,

  • Metal fabrication and laser cutting,

  • Plastics manufacturing,

  • Chemical processing,

  • Nitrogen blanketing, purging, and inerting operations and more.

As production requirements grow, additional Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) modules can be added to increase capacity without replacing the original system, making the i-Flow system a future-proof investment. You can read more about i-Flow applications here.

On-site generation benefits

Reduced Cost

One of the biggest benefits of installing a centralized nitrogen generator is cost control. Delivered nitrogen prices can fluctuate due to transportation costs, supply constraints, and market conditions. With the i-Flow generator, nitrogen is generated on-site from a compressed air supply, providing a stable and predictable operating cost.

Improved Reliability

A centralized nitrogen source generated on-site is available whenever production demands it. There are no cylinder changeovers, no delivery delays, and no risk of running out during critical production periods. A properly sized generator can provide reliable facility-wide supply without the risk of disruptions.

Increased Safety

Handling and storing high-pressure cylinders or cryogenic liquid nitrogen tanks presents significant health and safety challenges. A nitrogen generator removes many of these risks by producing nitrogen directly at the point of use, eliminating the need for frequent deliveries and manual handling.

Sustainability

Replacing delivered nitrogen with on-site nitrogen generation reduces transport requirements and associated emissions. The i-Flow systems help businesses become more self-sufficient while supporting sustainability initiatives and reducing their overall carbon footprint. They're easy to integrate and operate quietly.

Scalability

Production demands rarely remain static. The modular architecture of the i-Flow nitrogen generator allows organizations to expand nitrogen output simply by adding CMS modules or additional generator capacity as requirements change.

What makes the i-Flow nitrogen generators effective?

Our i-Flow units utilize the latest in Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) technology, one of the most reliable and effective technologies today. To produce nitrogen, compressed air is fed into the dual pressure CMS vessels, where it undergoes a cycle of compression and decompression, during which oxygen is absorbed and nitrogen is passed downstream.

Our CMS banks are packed using a ‘snowstorm’ filling technique, allowing for around 18% more carbon to be compacted into the carbon bed. This ultimately prevents gas channeling and ensures i-Flow can deliver maximum levels of nitrogen purity (up to 99.9995% or 5 ppm oxygen). Additionally, an integrated oxygen analysis system continuously monitors purity to ensure the nitrogen supply remains within specification for sensitive applications.

Future-proof your nitrogen generation

A centralized nitrogen source generated on-site provides greater control over operating expenses, eliminates dependency on external suppliers, and supports business continuity.

The i-Flow Prime nitrogen generator combines energy-efficient operation, modular scalability, and robust PSA technology into a complete nitrogen generation solution designed for demanding industrial environments. Whether you're replacing cylinders, dewars, micro-bulk tanks, or bulk liquid nitrogen, i-Flow provides a reliable path toward nitrogen self-sufficiency.
